Today is Wednesday.
Today, the Senate will convene and take a vote on whether to acquit or convict Donald J. Trump.
Today we (my 91 year old Mother and I) listened to and watched Mitt Romney as he gave his statement at the podium in the Senate regarding why he was going to vote to convict.
We were in the midst of getting ready to go back to the hospital to visit my mother's 98 year old friend who has been having various health issues . . . later, in the hospital room, we turned on the tv and were so glad to see that the Senate had acquitted President Trump.
We were upset this morning to learn that Mitt Romney was going to vote to convict President Trump and wondered at the time if he had hoped to influence any other Republicans to vote along with him to convict. He stands alone, very alone.
I voted for Mitt Romney in 2012, thought he was so nice and good.
Since March 2016 when Mr. Romney gave that anti-Trump speech at the Hinckley Institute gathering, I have been profoundly disappointed, especially considering that Romney accepted Trump's support in 2012. Then President Trump helped him anyway to get elected as a Senator from Utah.
Does Mitt Romney even realize how puny and rotten he looks?
Maybe this is all good though: he put himself on the record as to "why" he would vote to convict and then he did vote to convict. . . if he thought that what he was going to do was some kind of "Profile in Courage" I think he was very wrong.
Was Romney more afraid of something else, we don't know yet what that was but he did not come across very well.
Let's say if he had voted to acquit, not because he really supported the President but in a pragmatic way, voted to acquit and hide then later, strike in some other way. Snake.
This is good.
He is totally radioactive.
Thank you, Mr. Romney . . . no, I mean, Pierre Delecto . . . that name just sounds so weird and creepy and how on earth does a nice Mormom man come up with a name that sounds pretty strange . . . maybe he and Carlos Danger ought to get together!
